China Shipbuilding Capacity Utilization Monitoring Index (CCI) is the first index released by China's shipbuilding industry, which is a comprehensive index reflecting the degree of China's shipbuilding capacity utilization and playing a role in predicting future trends. China Shipbuilding Capacity Utilization Monitoring Index is scheduled to be released around the 20th of each quarter. After calculation, China Shipbuilding Capacity Utilization Monitoring Index in 2015 was 644 points, and the index in the third quarter of 2016 was 607 points.　　
　　Since the financial crisis in 2008, the international shipbuilding market has entered a long cycle of continuous adjustment and downturn, and overcapacity and insufficient demand have become the main contradiction restricting the development of China's shipbuilding industry. In order to implement the spirit of the relevant documents of the State Council, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to strengthen the shipbuilding industry capacity dynamic monitoring and analysis requirements, China Shipbuilding Industry Association organized the China Shipbuilding Industry Economy and Market Research Center and other units and relevant experts in the industry over a period of two years to carry out the research and preparation of China Shipbuilding Capacity Utilization Monitoring Index.
